LUIS ANGULO (Ayer y Hoy) - This is my current solo project which i have just released .It´s basically composed of original songs from the past and today and partly the evolution of my songwriting. Some of my influences are León Gieco,Pink Floyd,Roxy Music,David Bowie as well as some of 60´s and 70´s bands. Here i am playing all the instruments except for the drums,i have instead used drum machines and a couple of samplers.I have done the whole production myself at home, which was hard work but it keeps me going.
You may order the CD in Europe directly through my website or if you are in america you may order it at www.cdbaby.com

BLUEZETTE CT- LOOP PROJECT - Here is a collaboration i did on the internet a couple of years ago.I have a strong interest in minimal music and people like Phillip Glass Steve Reich and Terry Riley are some of the pioneers in this field. If you are wondering what this all mean you can read more about the history of loop based music. It is a very exciting time to be into it with all of the technology available and digital revolution going on. We were asked to produce a Loop blues piece no longer than 3 minutes and "The Returning" was the piece chosen for this project. If you listen to this piece i started with a simple blues riff and i kept adding layers of repetition to a total of about 9 movements. Then to make it a bit more fun i added at the end a couple of samples from Jimmy Hendrix and Muddy Warters. The piece turned unexpectedly into a bluesy hypnotic journey.

The Returning

PRIMEROS CICLOS -This is a collection of experimental loops and ideas i have recorded and produced in my studio plus 3 live tracks recorded in april 2004, at theTrinity College Pub in Brescia Italy. All of the sounds you are hearing in the live tracks for example were done with a guitar which has special electronics built in to be able to access not only normal guitar but also syntheziser sounds, which provides me with bass ,pianos, strings, trumpets, bagpipes and many other sounds. This allows me to use sounds i hear in my head without having to have an orchestra with me.I then record this sounds in realtime and start composing and improvising to the repeating loops i have spontaneously created. To accompany the pieces i aslo like to syncronize the loops with a drum machine which i program as well with african, latin, drum and bass or hip hop grooves. The greatest thing about this form of improvisation is i that you are absolutely free to improvise anything that comes to your mind without having to always follow premeditated compositions. But the biggest challenge of loop based music is to make it sound non repetitive! www.cdbaby.com

QUINTETO CHÀ (Entre dos mundos) - When i moved to Germany i noticed that there was a great demand for latin music and being latinamerican it was a great oportunity for me to play afro-cuban SON music which i´ve always loved. This band started basically as a fun project but the reaction has been enormous and cuban SON is in full swing again. One of my highlights with this band was to be the opening act for the legendary Buena Vista cuban Guitarrist Eliades Ochoa. Here I ve done a little Dance remix of my original "por ti ya no" which you can only dowload here but you can order "Entre dos mundos" through www.cdbaby.com

CULTURAS MIXTAS (1991-1994)- This is my first spanish pop rock band demo.It was a great band and we played a lot in the San Diego area as well as the Baja California cities of Mexico with great success. Some of our influences were James brown, Led Zeppelin, Santana and a lot of the classic 60´s and 70´s bands, but with an alternative 90´s touch. We have all drifted into different places but we are still in touch.I was lucky to find this recordings which i have remastered and put into a CD.

QUINTETO CHÀ - (Saludo). This is our second CD which i have produced. This CD is much more experimental than "Entre dos mundos".Here we integrated electric guitars and influences bits like changüi,rumba flamenca, samba, blues, rock and jungle music.I also played the cuban tres guitar in "Pretensiosa" which is a good example of the Changüi style. To order directly go to www.cdbaby.com

CHRISTIAN MADER LATIN JAZZ PROJECT- (Andando) I was approached by the jazz trombonist Christian Mader to play guitar and do a bit of singing on his project and at first i was a bit skeptic about doing it, since i have never played jazz. At the end it turned out to be a lot of fun, we did very little rehearsal and recorded it live with very few overdubs. It was also great getting to know other good musicians, making new friends and playing with my brother who played bass here as well.
